Killing With Kindness

Shakespeare has a line in his play, “Taming of the Shrew”, about “killing with kindness”, meaning to be overly kind to the point of being obnoxious. It’s a funny juxtaposition, isn’t it? It’s quite an oxymoron, to be so kind to someone that you might kill them…

Now don’t get me wrong, kindness is a powerful energy in consciousness, it’s a catalyst for our caring and connected actions.

But “killing with kindness” seems a little extreme to me. So how about if we update the phrase; maybe “hassle with kindness” – or “aggravate with kindness”? Maybe…

So let’s definitely be kind. Let’s be overly kind, let’s be overwhelmingly kind. Kindness matters…

There are so very many ways to be kind, and every single one makes an enormous difference. Let’s just leave out the ‘killing’ part…
